Home-Made Tortillas // Tales from an Empty Nest

 Homemade Nacho Cheese Doritos

Ingredients:

Corn Tortillas

1⁄4 cup cheddar cheese powder

1 Tbsp parmesan cheese

1⁄2 Tbsp smoked paprika

1⁄2 Tbsp turmeric

1⁄2 Tbsp onion powder

1⁄2 Tbsp garlic powder

1⁄2 Tbsp tomato bouillon powder

1 tsp chili powder

1⁄2 tsp salt

Instructions:

Start by cutting your tortillas into chip size pieces. Toss them into a bowl with some oil and make

sure they are coated on both sides. Place chips in a single layer in on your air fryer racks. Air fry

at 400F for about 5 minutes. While they are cooking, place all of your seasonings into a large

freezer bag (or you can use a brown paper bag) and shake to combine. You can also do this in a

bowl, but the bag makes it much easier and less messy. Take them out. Spray a little cooking

spray on them and toss them into the seasoning bag. Toss to coat. Place them back onto your air

fryer trays and air fry at 400F for another minute or two. They may be slightly bendy when you

pull them out, but should crisp up as they cool. Store in an airtight container for about 1 week.

These can also be deep fried in oil. You would cut your tortillas, fry till crispy and then toss in the

seasonings.

These can be done in the oven, but you will need to find the cooking instructions for that.
