Christie’s Homemade Hamburgers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely minced
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 3 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
Assembly Instructions:
- Add the ground beef, bread crumbs, graham cracker crumbs, onion, eggs, pepper, and dry onion soup mix to a large bowl. Use your hands to work the ingredients together until everything is well combined.
- Shape the mixture into hamburger patties and place a thumbprint indent in the middle of each patty.
- Transfer the patties to a baking sheet in a single layer and place the sheet in the freezer.
- When the patties are frozen, remove the pan from the freezer and transfer the hamburgers to a large resealable bag.
- Remove excess air from the bag and seal it closed. Store in the freezer until you’re ready to eat.
Cooking instructions:
- Cook the patties from frozen or thaw them in the refrigerator overnight.
- The hamburgers can be prepared on the BBQ or cooked in the skillet until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees in the center.
Jerk Turkey Burgers Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Jamaican Jerk seasoning
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and grated
- 1/2 cup green onion, sliced thin
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Assembly instructions:
Mix the raw ground turkey with the other ingredients in a bowl. Form into 4 1-inch thick patties and make a small indentation in the middle of each with your thumb.
Freezer Directions:
Place on a baking sheet in a single layer and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a large resealable freezer bag, remove excess air, seal, and freeze.
Blue Cheese Hamburgers Recipe:
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 6 oz. crumbled blue cheese (We use feta cheese blend)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup sweet onion, finely chopped
- parsley
Assembly instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix everything together. It’s best if you do this with your hands so that you can separate the hamburger and combine things well.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Freeze in large resealable freezer bags.*
*If you freeze them stacked on top of each other, the patties will stick together. You can either put a piece of parchment or wax paper in between each patty or you can flash freeze the burgers in a single layer on a cookie sheet before adding them to a freezer bag.
Cooking instructions:
- On the day of cooking, grill the frozen patties on the BBQ until the meat is no longer pink. Serve on buns or lettuce leaves.
Honey Mustard Chicken Burgers Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise to make 8 “burgers”
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup liquid honey
- 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Assembly Instructions
Throw all the ingredients in a large resealable bag. Squish together to combine. Remove excess air and seal.
BBQ Cooking Instructions
Thaw your bag in the refrigerator overnight. Preheat BBQ to medium. Grill chicken burgers with the lid closed for about 5 minutes per side. The center should not be pink, and the temperature should be 165ºF with an instant-read thermometer. Serve on a bun with your desired toppings.
