Wicked Prepared - Meals in a Jar
CHICKEN POT PIE PASTA
INGREDIENTS
2 c egg noodles
1/4 c dehydrated chopped carrots
1/4 c veloute
I /4c heavy cream powder
I Tbsp chicken bouillon
1/4 tsp dried thyme
h c FD corn
1/2 c FD peas
3/4 c FD diced chicken
(FD = freeze dried ingredient)
Directions
ASSEMBLY:
1. Add noodles then carrots to a wide mouth quart mason jar.
2. In a small bowl combine veloute and heavy cream powder, passing cream through a
fine mesh strainer. Whisk to combine powders thoroughly and add to jar.
3. Add remaining ingredients to jar in order listed. For long term storage, add a 200cc oxygen
absorber before sealing lid
Prepare the meal:
1. Empty jar contents into large skillet.
2. Add 3 c water and mix until everything is moistened and combined.
3. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat.
4. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 8-10 minutes or until noodles are cooked and sauce is thickened.
ZUPPA TOSCANA / LOW CARB
INGREDIENTS
I c FD sausage
1 h c FD cauliflower florets
h c heavy cream powder
1 1/2 Tbsp chicken bouillon
2 tsp Italian sausage seasoning
1 tsp Glucomannan (can sub 2 tsp guar gum)
h tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp italian seasoning
1/4 c FD chopped onion
1 c FD kale
DIRECTIONS
I. Layer ingredients in a wide mouth quart jar in the order listed.
2. Add a 200cc oxygen absorber for long term
storage, seal.
Prepare the meal in a jar:
I. Empty jar into a medium soup pot.
2. Add 6 cups cold water and stir to moisten all ingredients.
3. Cover and bring to a simmer. Stir and lower heat.
4. Simmer covered, 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Stir, then let sit covered for IO minutes. Stir again and serve.
SOUTHWEST FRITTATA
INGREDIENTS
I c FD shredded pepper jack cheese
1/2 c FD sausage crumbles
1/4 c FD chopped onion
1/2 c FD diced red pepper
h c FD green chilies
1/2 c FD diced tomato
1/4 c sour cream powder
1 tsp salt
1 /2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 c scrambled egg powder
DIRECTIONS
1. Layer ingredients in a wide mouth jar in the order listed.
2. For long term storage add a 200cc oxygen absorber. Seal jar.
To Prepare the meal:
1. Preheat oven to 3500. Remove OA if included.
2. Empty jar contents into a mixing bowl.
3. Add 3 cups cold water. Stir until all ingredients are well blended. Let sit 10 mins.
4. Meanwhile add 1/2 Tbsp butter to a 8x8 baking dish and spread to coat bottom and sides.
5. Pour egg mixture in and bake 15-20 minutes until set in center. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
ZESTY Garden Salsa
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 c FD tomatoes
1/4 c FD green chilies
1/4 c FD chopped onion
I tsp lime juice powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 c FD diced red bell pepper
I Tbsp FD cilantro
Optional: FD jalapeno or red pepper flakes for more heat
DIRECTIONS
1. Layer ingredients in a wide mouth quart mason jar in the order listed.
2. For long term storage add a 100cc oxygen absorber. Seal jar.
To prepare the meal:
1. Remove OA if included.
2. To jar, add 1/4 c cold water. Stir well.
4. Re-cap and let sit in refrigerator at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
5. Stir again and serve.
SOUTHWEST CORN MUFFINS
INGREDIENTS
1/2 c FD shredded pepper jack
3/4 c FD corn
1/2 C FD chopped green chilies
1/2 c corn meal
h c flour
1/2 c baking mix (such as Bisquick)
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 c butter powder
1/4 c sour cream powder
2 Tbsp egg powder
DIRECTIONS
1. Layer cheese, corn and chilies in wide
mouth quart mason jar.
2. In a bowl, mix remaining ingredients with a
whisk until well blended.
3. Add to jar, tapping jar to settle contents
until it all fits. Close jar.
•To Prepare the meal:
I. Spray muffin tin with nonstick spray.
2. Empty jar contents into mixing bowl.
3. Add 1 3/4 c cold water and mix until
ingredients are well blended.
4. Let rest IO minutes.
5. Divide batter among 12 muffin cups.
6. Bake 15-20 mins or until muffins test done.
Makes 12 muffins
MEAT-LOVER BURRITO
I c FD beef or chicken
1 c instant rice
% c instant black beans
I Tbsp tomato powder
I tsp lime juice powder
1 Tbsp chicken bouillon
1 tsp ancho chili powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cumin
h tsp smoked paprika
2 Tbsp FD chopped onion
2 Tbsp DH diced bell pepper
1/2 c Instant refried beans
DIRECTIONS
I. Layer ingredients in a wide mouth quart mason jar in the order listed.
2. Add a 200cc oxygen absorber for long term storage.
•To Prepare the meal in a jar:
I . Add jar to medium saucepan, add 3 1/4 cups cold water and stir until well blended.
2. Heat to a simmer over medium high heat, stirring once. Add lid and turn heat to low, simmer 5 minutes.
3. Turn off heat and let stand, covered, for 10 more minutes or until meat and beans are tender.
4. Wrap into a burrito sized tortilla with your desired toppings. Alternatively, you can serve it without the tortilla as a burrito bowl.
