Overnight Oats // Q Kitchen

 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt (or Greek Vanilla Yogurt): 1 cup (240 ml)

  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (more to taste): 2 tbsp (30 ml)

  • 1 cup water (or milk of your choice): 1 cup (240 ml)

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional): ½ tsp (2.5 ml)

  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats: 1.5 cups (360 ml)

  • ½ cup fresh fruit (such as fresh berries): 0.5 cup (120 ml)

  • A handful of nuts or a few tablespoons of nut butter: Optional

  • Granola: Optional

Equipment Needed:

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Plastic wrap or tight-fitting lid

  • Refrigerator

Instructions:

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together vanilla yogurt, honey, and water until well combined.

  2. Stir in the oats: Stir in the rolled oats and ground cinnamon (if using) and mix until fully incorporated.

  3. Cover and rest: Cover with plastic wrap or a tight-fitting lid and place in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight.

  4. Stir: In the morning, give it a quick stir.

  5. Garnish and serve: Divide the overnight yogurt oats into bowls (or jars) and, if preferred, garnish them with your favorite toppings and a drizzle of honey.

Safety Notes: Ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored properly. Wash hands and utensils thoroughly before handling food.

Substitutions: You can use Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt for a thicker consistency. Substitute honey or maple syrup with another sweetener if preferred.

Storage: Store leftover overnight oats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Pro Tips: Adjust the amount of liquid based on your preference for thickness. Adding a pinch of salt can enhance the flavor. Experiment with different fruits and nuts to keep the recipe interesting.
