Spamtember

 SPAM tater tot casserole (2LeeLouCreates)

Ingredients

1 can SPAM® with Real HORMEL® Bacon, cut into 1/4-inch cubes

12 eggs, beaten

1 bag frozen tater tots

3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 small yellow onion, diced

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon salt

Black pepper

Directions

In a frying pan, sauté onions with butter until soft, then remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, fry the SPAM® cubes until crisp and brown.

Add the sauteed onions back into the frying pan and set pan aside.

Separately, combine eggs, cheese, paprika, onion powder, salt, and lots of black pepper into a large bowl, then whisk together.

Add in the tater tots and the sauteed onion and SPAM® mixture into the large bowl, then mix everything and add it all into a baking dish.

Cook at 350°F for 45 minutes, then broil for 15-20 more minutes until golden brown on top.


Spam Ramen Burgers

Ingredients
  • 1 (3-ounce) package ramen noodles
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 (3-ounce) package SPAM® Single
  • 2 tablespoons kimchi, drained
Directions
  1. Cook noodles according to package, including seasoning packet. Drain and discard liquid. Let noodles stand 15 minutes.
  2. Stir in egg and divide mixture in half.
  3. Place 2 sheets of plastic wrap in bowls and top with noodles. Fold plastic wrap over noodles and weight with similar bowls. Refrigerate for 2 hours and then remove noodles from plastic.
  4. In large skillet, heat oil. Cook ramen patties in oil 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Carefully remove to a plate.
  5. Cook SPAM® slice 2 to 3 minutes or until browned. Top one ramen patty with spam slice and kimchi. Top with remaining ramen patty.
Spam Musubi Recipe: 1 can spam Rice 1 package nori 3 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp ginger 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp sugar

SPAM and corn fritters
Ingredients; 3 Cups fresh or frozen Corn Kernals 1 Cup all purpose flour 2 t sugar 1 t baking powder 1/4 t pepper 2 eggs 1/2 C whole milk 1/3 C finely diced red bell pepper 1/3 C finely diced purple onion 3/4 C shredded monterey or pepperjack cheese Green onions to garnish Oil for Frying

SPAM® Potato Chowder

Ingredients
  • 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic, diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound (or about 3 medium) potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup water
Directions
  1. In medium saucepan, sauté onion and celery in butter until tender.
  2. Add SPAM® Classic and cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes.
  3. Add broth, water, potatoes, caraway seeds, and pepper to saucepan.
  4. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  5. Stir in half-and-half and parsley; heat to serve.
